Whyte's to host rock & pop memorabilia auction
Rory Gallagher's old amp, rare U2 memorabilia and Michael Jackson items will be just some of the treasures up for grabs in Dublin at the end of May.
Mark the date in your diaries, pop culture fans – Saturday May 31 will see two very interesting auctions take place in Whyte's Galleries, as as-good-as-new movie posters and a host of mouth-watering pop and rock memorabilia go under the hammer.
Noon sees the movie poster auction, while the rock & pop trading kicks off at 4pm. Among the big items heading to the highest bidder in the latter will be an original Rory Gallagher 'warm-up' amplifier the six-string legend acquired in LA during the mid '70s, as well as a replica of his first Strat (estimated value €5000-€7000), as well as signed Michael Jackson material and items from Irish artists including U2, The Cranberries, Boomtown Rats, Phil Lynott and more.
If you fancy a viewing, head alone to Whyte's Galleries on 28 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 at these times:
Wednesday 28 May 10am-5pm; Thursday 29 May 10am to 7pm; Friday 30 May 10am to 7pm
Admission to the Saturday auction by Catalogue is €10 and admits two people.
