Looking bulked up, leathery-faced and covered in tattoos, this is a Mel Gibson we haven't seen before.
Nowadays Gibson is usually drawing headlines for his personal antics but he is now set to bring the focus back to his acting in Blood Father.

Blood Father sees Gibson as the grizzly tattoo-artist John Link. Situated in the deserted sands in a shabby caravan, Link pays heed of no one. However, when a spat with a bunch of drug dealers unravels, he must prove to his estranged daughter that he will stop at nothing to protect her.
Although there are many who might be apprehensive towards Gibson's acting ability, this short trailer looks very promising. Furthermore, the Blood Father production boasts numerous pedigree industry people. The film is directed by the reputable Jean-François Richet and the screenplay is accredited to Andrea Berloff of Straight Outta Compton.
Blood Father has yet to reveal an Irish release date so watch this space!
