Electric Picnic adds new piano stage
"It’s not just an instrument; it’s an invitation. The piano is about connection, between artist and audience, between music and the magical Stradbally Estate," says the festival organisers.
Electric Picnic will debut a new piano stage at this year’s festival in Stradbally, taking place August 29–31.
The stage, located in the Croí area, will host curated performances from pianists, singer-songwriters and other musicians.
Artists can apply via Electric Picnic's website to perform solo or as an ensemble with up to four musical accompaniments.
The setup includes a four-channel PA system, a microphone to support live vocals and space for additional instruments.
Outside of scheduled acts, the piano will be open for festival-goers to play throughout the weekend.

"Whether you’re a seasoned performer or simply someone ready to share music with the world, this is your chance to be part of something special," says Melvin Benn, Electric Picnic's festival director.
The public is also being asked to help choose the stage’s name from a shortlist of 11 options, including The People’s Piano, Electric Keys and The Grand Stretch.
Voting is open on the Electric Picnic website until August 22.
Applications to perform close on August 18, with selected musicians notified on August 21.
