KhakiKid releases Live For NPR's World Cafe EP
The session was recorded in Dublin's Windmill Lane Studios the day after the release of his EP, Girl Bites Dog.
KhakiKid has released Live for NPR's World Cafe, a four-track live EP featuring recordings from his recent performance for the US music programme.
Originally broadcast in September as part of NPR's World Cafe: Sense of Place - Dublin series, the EP features live renditions of 'Soul', 'Shlumped Up,' 'Date Night' and 'Shoes Up.'
"You don't need me to tell you that Dublin has a long, rich history of great storytellers and songwriters," said World Cafe host Raina Douris. "But what moved me most when we recorded these sessions is just how much history is still alive in the newer generation of artists coming up in the city.
"From indie rock to hip-hop to punk-influenced to traditional - each artist in this series draws inspiration from Dublin's past while telling vibrant stories of Ireland's present and future."
The series also featured Irish acts such as CMAT, Dermot Kennedy, and Madra Salach, as well as Hozier, Florence Road and more.
The release arrives as KhakiKid begins his UK and Ireland tour, kicking off with dates in London, Manchester, Galway and Glasgow.
Limited tickets are available here for Cyprus Avenue, Cork on November 13, and Limelight, Belfast on November 15.
