Connolly Books to host KNEECAP Solidarity Seisiún on Mo Chara's court date
Find more details about the event below.
Dublin's Connolly Books have announced a KNEECAP Solidarity Seisiún on day of Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh's court date (Wednesday, August 20).
The event will feature other Irish artists "standing in solidarity with Liam Óg, Kneecap and the people of Palestine," according to a post on Connolly Books' Instagram.
The line-up will include Ispíní na hÉireann, Roisin El Cherif, Sally Cinnamon, Liam Winnett, Molly Vulpyne, Mikey Cullen and Ru O'Shea.
Better known by his stage name Mo Chara, Ó hAnnaidh has been charged with a single count of terrorism in the UK for allegations that he displayed a Hezbollah flag during a London concert in November 2024.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in June and was released on unconditional bail.
"Pathetic charges and the farce of the British state continue as Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh goes to court on August 20," read Connolly Books' Instagram post.
"Between flights of the RAF out of Cyprus supporting the genocidal campaign of annihilation in Palestine, the British state somehow finds time to ban voices and actions of solidarity, truth, and resistance."
"Irish artists have held the line in solidarity with exposing the genocide of the Palestinian people. None more so than Kneecap who have led the way for so many. Targeting Kneecap will spectacularly backfire, and Liam Óg's court date will offer us yet another chance to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and against the arbiters of imperialism."
The KNEECAP Solidarity Seisiún will take place at Connolly Books, Dublin at 3 p.m.
