Watch: Le Bataclan sings 'La Marseillaise' at Pete Doherty Gig
Pete Doherty keeps the good vibes going after Sting opens at Le Bataclan a few nights before.
Last night, English musician Pete Doherty serenaded Le Bataclan audience with a version of 'La Marseillaise.' Written in 1792 by Claude Jospeh Rouget de Lisle, the song stands as France's anthem of freedom.
Doherty played one show last night, and will perform again tonight at the venue after Sting officially reopened the Parisian building last week. During the gig, Doherty's bandmate Carl Barat helped lead a crowd-sung version of France's national anthem in tribute to those who died in the terrorist attacks last November. A flag rendering the words "Fuck forever terrorism" was also held up during the concert.
