"Make no mistake, CMAT is a fucking star," Carlile said of her performance in January.

Brandi Carlile joined CMAT on stage at the Newport Folk Festival yesterday, July 26 for a live rendition of ‘I’d Want U’ by CMAT.

In January, CMAT performed at American singer-songwriter Carlile’s destination festival in Mexico, where Carlile praised her set as “blazingly brilliant.”

“Make no mistake,” Carlile wrote on Instagram after the performance. “CMAT is a fucking star. We got to hold onto a shooting star for a brief brilliant moment.”

Carlile, was also recently inducted into the 12^th annual Austin City Limits Hall of Fame July 1. She is currently on tour for her eighth studio album, Returning to Myself, with upcoming international fall dates, including a stop at Dublin's 3Arena on October 15.

CMAT is also on tour for her 2025 album, Euro-Country, which was awarded nominations for the Mercury Prize Album of the Year, Best International Artist at the BRITs and she received an Ivor Novello Award for the album in May.

She has several dates in Ireland including a set at Electric Picnic and two shows in Belfast on August 31 and September 1.

This month, she announced a hiatus for 2027, saying she would not be touring or working on any new music.
