The soulful Brian Deady returns in impressively soulful on new track 'Lightning & Thunder', which comes armed with an artful black and white performance video directed by Deady and Colm Walsh. Check it out below.

It marks the first time Deady has recorded outside of a professional studio, producing, engineering and mixing the track all by himself.

"I like it that way these days," he says. "I sound more like me. I took the Doo Wop style and tried to give it a little twist by adding an 808 kick drum. I call it 'Nu Wop'! The song was written during our long hot summer and I feel it reflects on the theme that beautiful things don't always last."

Deady will play support to Chic at the Cork Opera House on October 26 as part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival before taking opening hours when Beardyman hits The Sugar Club, Dublin on November 30.
