U2 guest on new series of TFI Friday
The band are performing two songs this week on the Chris Evans reboot
There will be a pronounced Irish flavour this week as Chris Evans returns to Channel 4 with a 10-part revival of TFI Friday.
U2 will perform two tracks live while Saoirse Ronan joins Steve Coogan, Take That and Slaves as the other guests.
"It wouldn't be the first episode of TFI without one of the biggest bands in the world, if not the biggest," Evans enthuses.
"We're over the moon that we've got U2 on the show, they're coming in specially, flying straight from a show in Antwerp and straight back to Cologne, making the time just for us, and we certainly plan to make the most of it."
You may recall that Bono and The Edge graced the St. Patrick's Day 2000 TFI special which took place in the old Eamonn Doran's venue in Temple Bar.
Having recently bagged the Top Gear job, Evans says he won't be renewing his TFI Friday contract after the series finishes.
