U2 Confirm Croke Park Show

Speculation has been rife that a Croke Park date would be included in the rumoured U2 'Joshua Tree Anniversary' tour. PLUS full details of North American Joshua Tree Tour & European Joshua Tree Tour

U2 have confirmed that they will play Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday, July 22.

Tickets go on sale officially on Monday next. In the meantime, presale tickets will be available exclusively on U2.com.

The date is part of the special Joshua Tree anniversary tour, which the band have been hinting at since Christmas. Support for the Irish date – only one Croke Park show has so far been confirmed – will be Noel Gallagher. The North America leg of the tour opens (with the Lumineers as support) as already forecast on hotpress.com in Vancouver on May 12, 2017.

The European stint kicks off in Twickenham, in London, on July 8. Other European dates include stop-offs in Berlin, Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Brussels.

The tour coincides with the 30th anniversary of the album, which went No.1 all over the world and has so far sold a whopping 25 million records.

The band played Croke ark on the original Joshua Tree tour and so a return to GAA headquarters makes perfect sense.
