U2 announce special London concert for BBC
U2 will release their sixteenth studio album, Carnaval de Luz, on November 13.
U2 are set to perform an exclusive concert for BBC Music on November 3 in London for a select audience of fans.
The Dublin band will perform songs from across their catalogue, including new tracks from their upcoming album Carnaval de Luz.
A limited number of tickets are now available via a random draw, which is open for registration until midnight on October 29. The central London performance location will be revealed to ticket holders on the day of the performance.
"Every time I see U2 perform, they're always incredible, giving 100% to each and every show," said Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, announcing the news. "I can't wait to see what they have in store for us, and to share what I know will be a fantastic concert with listeners."
The show will be broadcast on BBC Two in late November as part of programming dedicated to U2, as well as on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds on November 30, within Whiley's show, alongside an interview with members of the band.
U2 will release their sixteenth studio album, Carnaval de Luz, on November 13. They dropped the record's third single, 'The Greatest Show on Earth', along with an accompanying music video earlier this month.
They also announced their Carnaval de Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth world tour. It will kick off in Mexico City in February 2027, before continuing on to São Paulo and Buenos Aires. Beck will support the group in all three cities.
Additional dates for Europe and North America are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Last week, the band announced that they will headline the NFL's first Thanksgiving Eve game, which will be streamed live on Netflix on November 25. U2 previously performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2002.
Registration for the random draw of tickets is available here.
The extraordinary story of the band's first official gig as U2 – at a competition in Limerick in 1978 – is explored in the brand new book Becoming U2 by Brian O'Connell. Hardback and paperback editions are available to pre-order now through the Hot Press Shop.
