Tyler injured - Aerosmith cancel tour
Current tour cancelled after Steven Tyler falls off stage
Aerosmith have cancelled the rest of their current tour following lead singer Steven Tyler injured himself falling off the stage during the band’s concert last week at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
Tyler was dancing along to the band’s 1989 hit ‘Love in an Elevator’ when the accident happened, resulting in the singer sustaining a broken shoulder and requiring stitches for a head injury. He was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment, before going back to Boston, Massachusetts, to be attended by his own doctors.
"Words can't express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour," said Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. "We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible."
This was Tyler's second accident during this tour. Five concerts had to be postponed in July after Tyler injured a leg. The tour had been scheduled to continue until September 16.
