TWOTW Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Irish Show
Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of the War of The Worlds begins its UK and Ireland run next summer with a show at The O2, Dublin
The show stars Jennifer Ellison as Beth, Parson Nathaniel’s wife; the Moody Blues Justin Hayward as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist; and Manfred Mann’s Chris Thompson as The Voice of Humanity. The newest addition to the cast is Australia's No 1 artist and MTV's Best Male Artist 3 years running Shannon Noll, who will take up the role of Parson Nathaniel.
The War of the Worlds – which features international hit singles ‘The Eve of The War’ and Forever Autumn’ – toured successfully in both 2006 and 2007.
The groundbreaking technology already featured in the previous productions includes an 11-foot high 3D photo-real floating hologram of Richard Burton, In Sight and Sound, as George Herbert, The Journalist and a 3-tonne, 35-foot tall Martian Fighting Machine firing Heat Rays at the audience!
Jeff Wayne will again be conducting The Black Smoke Band and The ULLAdubULLA Strings.
“To be playing our third UK arena tour (and international dates) has been a success way beyond anything we had envisioned", Wayne says. "It's a measure of the loyal support of the many fans over the years, as well as the word-of-mouth about the uniqueness of The War of The Worlds - Alive on Stage!"
Tickets go on general sale on Saturday October 25 at 9am.
TWOTW comes to the O2 on Sunday, June 7 2009. For the full list of Irish and UK dates, click here
