Tributes paid to Ireland's three Ivor Novello Award-winners

It was an Irish triple-whammy yesterday at the Ivor Novellos in London with Villagers winning the Album Award with Darling Arithmetic and David Holmes’ London Spy score picking up Best TV Soundtrack. Holmer also won an Ivor last year with his '71 film soundtrack.
Celebrating too was former Snow Patrol associate Iain Archer who co-wrote James Bay’s ‘Hold Back The River’, officially the PRS’ Most Performed Work.
There have been lots of “well done” messages with Little Green Cars telling Conor J. O’Brien: “Congratulations! Was listening to the beautiful album only yesterday in Brian Mooney’s van.”
“Well done to my brother from completely different parents for winning the Ivor Novello for Best Album,” joined in David O’Doherty.
“One of my favourite people in the world has just won an Ivor Novello Award,” enthused Gary Lightbody. “The awesome Iain Archer…”
“Iain, we love you!” added Bronagh Gallagher. “Congratulations darlin’. Love your work.”
“Huge congrats to David Holmes who got his second award in two years!” Belfast’s Oscar-nominated Out Of Orbit production company tweeted.
Meanwhile, June 13 sees Holmes starting a new monthly show on NTS radio featuring “music from films – and music that should be in films!”
