Oh Yeah Music Centre releases Scratch My Progress Vol. 14
The EP will be launched with a special live showcase at Oh Yeah Music Centre as part of Sound of Belfast on November 10.
The Oh Yeah Music Centre has unveiled its new EP, Scratch My Progress Vol. 14, showcasing four up-and-coming bands from Northern Ireland.
The multi-track features a song each from emerging artists Lord Jane, GUSH, the thing is… and Pinsleep.
The EP is part of an annual development programme called Scratch My Progress. The scheme is run by the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast and is designed to accelerate the careers of emerging musicians and bands.
It consists of one-to-one mentoring, industry masterclasses, studio recording time, professional photography, live performance opportunities, and career development guidance, designed to equip emerging artists with the skills to build a career in music.
Notable graduates from the scheme include Wynona Bleach, Problem Patterns, Lemonade Shoelace and Kitt Philippa, who won Best Album at the NI Music Prize in 2019.
The scheme is supported through the PRS Foundation Talent Development fund and IMRO.
"It's been a pleasure supporting this year's Scratch My Progress cohort,” said Ben Magee, a mentor in the programme. “Their passion, dedication and creativity have been inspiring, and we've produced some fantastic music that reflects the breadth of talent emerging from Northern Ireland. We wish them every success as they continue their artistic journeys."
The EP will be launched with a special live showcase at Oh Yeah Music Centre as part of Sound of Belfast on Tuesday, November 10, where audiences will have the opportunity to experience performances from all four participating artists.
