Transplants: In A Warzone
Eclectic collection from US punk supergroup...
The third album from Transplants (comprised of members of Rancid and Blink 182) is a predictably loud and frantic collection of punk stompers, with occasional – and surprisingly successful – excursions into rap and electro.
Though there’s the obligatory allotment of wailing rifferama on songs like the title-track, ‘Any Of Them’ and ‘Silence’, Transplants offer some more melodic fare – ‘See It To Believe It’ and ‘Back To You’ being prime examples – and even skirt country territory on the acoustic-driven ‘Come Around’. ‘Something Different’ and ‘It’s A Problem’, meanwhile, do a fine job of incorporating electro beats and rapped vocals.
With some hard-hitting lyrics tackling conflict and economic collapse, In A Warzone should find favour with those who like their rock raw and aggressive.
Key Track: ‘Something Different’
