Third Eye Blind protest Republican Party at post-RNC event

Band frontman: "You can boo all you want, but I'm the motherfucking artist up here"

Third Eye Blind - that untouchable 90s pop/rock outfit that gave us 'Semi-Charmed Life' and 'Jumper' - protested the Republican National Convention in maybe the best way possible last night: as the special guest at an event attended by several RNC attendees.
The band were playing at a charity event at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum after the Tuesday RNC events, when band frontman Stephan Jenkins took the opportunity to bash the Republican Party platform from the stage.
He called for homosexuals to be fully incorporated into the American fabric and on his listeners not to impose their fear on other people before playing 'Jumper', a song inspired by the suicide of a gay friend.
Third Eye Blind trolled their audience and the Republican Party throughout the gig: Jenkins yelled, "Raise your hand if you believe in science!" in the middle of 'Jumper'; the band played their conservative-bashing cut 'Non-Dairy Creamer'; and they refused to perform any of their hits besides 'Jumper'.
The fact that the band were even invited comes as a surprise, since Jenkins wrote an article for the Huffington Post in 2012 damning the Republican Party. The article came after the band was invited to play a private party following the RNC. The title of the piece?
"Why We Aren’t Playing at the RNC".
Will the band be invited to a post-2020 RNC event?

The band shared a statement clarifying that their performance was part of a charity event not directly connected to the RNC.
