There's a new D'Arcy in town...
When one D'Arcy leaves, another one enters...
Yes Today FM have welcomed iRadio's Fergal D'Arcy to the station. While he won't be replacing Ray D'Arcy's former coveted morning slot, Fergal will be taking over from Colm O' Sullivan on The Mix Up from 7pm-9pm Monday to Thursday. Fergal started his career with Clare FM and has been with iRadio for 8 years picking up a PPI radio award in the process.
Speaking about his move to Today FM Fergal said:“I've always prided myself on being an ideas man more than a presenter, with this in mind a move to what in my opinion, is the most dynamic and creative station in the country, is a step in the right direction. Anyone that knows me 'expects something different' every time they see me .... I'll fit right in.”
Meanwhile, Peter McParlin, CEO of Today FM remarked on Fergal's arrival to Today FM“We’ve been admiring Fergal’s on-air creativity for some time and I’m delighted that we’ve managed to get one of the brightest young talents on Irish radio onto Today FM."
Poking fun at the fact that Fergal has the same surname as former Today FM broadcaster, Ray D'Arcy, the station posted a video on Twitter welcoming Fergal to the station captioned "D'arcy is joining us...
NO, not that D'arcy!"
