The Undertones announce 50th anniversary tour dates in Belfast and Derry

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Undertones, the band have announced tour dates in Belfast and Derry.

They are set to play a Christmas Weekender at The Limelight in Belfast, December 19-20, 2026. 77-year-old DJ Terri Hooley, still active on Belfast's music scene, will be a special guest with others to be confirmed.

The band's most well-known track, 'Teenage Kicks', was recorded on Hooley's Good Vibrations label in Belfast, 1978.

Millenium Forum in Derry will host the rock band in February 19-20, 2027, with SKIDS joining Hooley as special guests. The Scottish punk-rock band are also approaching their 50th anniversary.

The additional dates have been added to The Undertones 50th anniversary tour that was announced in October. Spanning across November and December, they will play in Cork, Waterford, Dublin, Limerick, Galway and Kilkenny.

The Undertones will continue the promotion of their first live album 16 Live Humdinger, which is currently only available to purchase at live shows on green vinyl, with Paul McLoone featuring on vocals. The band reformed in 1999 with McLoone as the frontman following their disbandment in 1983, with previous frontman Feargal Sharkey leaving the band on account of musical differences.
