Cabaret Voltaire mark 50 years with final Irish shows
Tickets will go on sale Friday, November 7.
Cabaret Voltaire have announced two Irish dates as part of their final UK and Ireland tour, marking 50 years since the band’s live debut.
The group will perform at The Academy, Dublin on October 7, 2026, followed by The Limelight, Belfast on October 8, 2026.
The tour will feature original members Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson.
“What a wonderful opportunity to go round the block one more time and share that with one of the most unique and spectacular artists we know,” said Mallinder.
Watson added that it would be “a unique privilege” to share the stage again and to honour the group’s legacy.
Composer and performance artist Gazelle Twin will appear as a special guest across all dates.
Cabaret Voltaire were originally active between 1973 and 1994, with Watson leaving in 1981 and Mallinder departing in 1994. The project returned in 2014 under the late Richard H. Kirk, who continued performing and releasing music as Cabaret Voltaire until his death in 2021.
They began experimenting with DIY electronics and Dada-inspired performance art, helping pioneer industrial music. Over time, their sound evolved to include elements of synthpop, techno, house, and funk.
Mallinder and Watson have confirmed that there will be no new recordings under the name, with the 2026 tour set to be the final series of live performances.
Tickets for the Dublin and Belfast shows go on sale Friday, November 7.
