The Undertones announce 50th anniversary tour
Since reforming in November 1999, Paul McLoone joined as the band's new frontman after Feargal Sharkey declined.
The Undertones have announced a run of Irish tour dates to mark the band's 50th anniversary.
The tour will span across November and December, with the band set to play Cyprus Avenue, Cork, on November 5; Bank Lane, Waterford, on November 6; 3Olympia, Dublin, on November 7; Dolan's Warehouse, Limerick, on December 3; Róisín Dubh, Galway, on December 4; and Set Theatre, Kilkenny, on December 5.
Known for hits like 'Teenage Kicks', The Undertones formed in Derry in 1974.
The group released thirteen singles and four studio albums between 1978 and 1983. Their debut self-titled album was released in 1979 and peaked at No.13 on the Official UK Albums Chart.
In May 1983, Feargal Sharkey announced he would leave the band, pointing to musical differences as the reason for the breakup.
