Rua Rí announces Ireland tour following release of debut album Tell Your Mother I Saved Your Life

Rua Rí has announced an Irish headline tour following the release of his debut album Tell Your Mother I Saved Your Life.

Rua Rí, aka Seán Damery, is a Cork born folk artist who began his music career busking around Cork City. From there, he began writing his own music with influence from folk and country sounds, eventually landing with Soft Boy Records - home to artists like Kean Kavanagh and Kojaque

Tell Your Mother I Saved Your Life - produced entirely by Kean Kavanagh - is an homage to Damery's life growing up in Cork. The album is a raw depiction of his youth, not romanticising his upbringing but basking in the boring, the insignificant, the complete ordinarity of it all. With references to specific places throughout Cork such as Cobh, and hints to personal memories of growing up there, the album gives us a completely unfiltered insight into Damery's world.

Rua Rí has previously supported other Irish folk artists such as Amble, Joshua Burnside, Kean Kavanagh and Sam Amidon,and is quickly becoming a big name in the Irish folk music scene.
