The Real Thing's Singer Has Passed Away
Eddy Amoo has died unexpectedly at the age of 74, while out on tour in Australia.
The British soul group enjoyed a number one hit in 1976 with the song 'You Are To Me Everything'.
By number of sales, they were the most successful soul act in England during the 1970s.
The only other surviving member of the band's original line-up, Eddy's brother Chris took to Twitter along with the bandmate Dave Smith to pay tribute to the late star.
“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our brother and inspiration, Eddy Amoo, who passed away on 23rd February, age 74,” a tweet from Chris and Dave read.
They also described Eddy as a "showman and a legend"
Thank you for all love shown to Liverpool's greatest showman. Eddy would be proud and humbled #eddyamoo #therealthing #greatestshowman #liverpool #bestofbritish #liverpoolsfinest #toxteth Your thoughts and comments mean so much to us ❤️ pic.twitter.com/xJfWWJvJAs
