The raw magnetism of Father John Misty
Josh Tillman danced his way through an incredible performance at Electric Picnic.
I'll come out and say it, I didn't expect Father John Misty to be the downright hilarious, sexual, all-singing, all-dancing showman that he was. But pretty much from the word go, I was a convert to whatever Christian sect Father John Misty was advocating.
'When You Are Smiling And Astride Me' - with its interlude of Tillman imagining himself taking a girl to bed in the EP campsite - was a memorable moment, as was 'True Affection'.
'The Ideal Husband' was a masterstroke of an ending and you could tell from the crowd's engagement with the singer that they agreed.
As an aside, if you happened to be the youngg guy and girl who met eyes during 'When You Are smiling' and ended up passionately kissing by the end of the night, please get in touch. You summed up the nature of the performance perfectly.
