Originally set to end its run on April 4, the Exhibition will now be open to visitors for an extra month
The Philip Lynott Exhibition, which was originally set to end its run on April 4, will now be open to visitors for an extra month. The exhibition, which has been garnering rave reviews, will run until Monday May 2 in the Creative Space at the top of Stephen's Green Shopping Centre.
Rock enthusiasts, music fans, tourists, schools and families have all flocked to the critically acclaimed exhibition, to honour Philip Lynott. There they've been able to view the biggest ever collection of memorabilia, song lyrics, exhibits, paintings, tributes and photographs of the late rock legend. Now, due to popular demand, the Exhibition is extending its run by a further 4 weeks.
"The reaction has been amazing," said Niall Stokes ofHot Press. "There has been a steady stream of visitors, many of them coming from overseas, and everyone has been raving about the quality of the exhibition. We set out to create something that Irish people could feel proud of and I think we have done that. We are hugely gratified – and also humbled – by the enormously positive reaction."

In what is a remarkable reflection of the renewed interest in Philip Lynott and his background, the newly updated My Boy by Philomena Lynott has been selling exceptionally well, holding down the No. 2 spot in the Non Fiction Paperback best-sellers in Ireland for the past three weeks. In it, Philomena Lynott, for the first time, tells the astonishing story of Philip's sister Jeanette and his brother Leslie, who were given up for adoption in the early 1950s.
