The Flaws and more for Monroe's Live
Four new shows announced for one of the busiest venue around.
If you're a music-over in the west, this is worthy of your attention. A number of new live shows have been by Monroe's Live for next month.
First up, some good old-fashioned jazz. Cookie And The Vaudevilles can be found in the Backstage Bar at Monroe's on Sunday May 15, featuring a frontman that has toured with Riverdance and a talented bunch of international musicians bringing some swing to Galwyay. Doors are at 11pm and it's a free gig.
Friday May 15 will be a busy night at Monroe's.
Returning indie rockers The Flaws have a new album (finally!) to promote – the brilliantly-titled Springtime For The Flaws and will do their melodic thing in The Backstage Bar. Doors for that gig are at 9pm and tickets are €8/€5 online from [link]monroes.ie[/link].
Later that night, you can catch the rootsy Rackhouse Pilfer. An accomplished formidable live proposition who won the Jägermeister Freezer Sessions 100 series last year, they're on the main stage at midnight. Tickets are a tenner.
Finally, beloved Corkonian Freddie White will play Saturday May 16. Known for his brilliant guitar-and-vocal interpretations of any number of classic songs, he's now based in Sydney and delivered a collection of his own material, Better Days last year. He's coming back to Irish shores to showcase the new stuff and do the old stuff he does best too. Doors are at 8.30pm and tickets are €20/€18 online.
