The Coronas offer condolences to Sabrina Carpenter after claiming top spot on Irish album chart
The trio are headed to tour the US and Australia before coming home in December to play five sold-out shows in Dublin's 3Olympia.
The Coronas have offered their condolences to Sabrina Carpenter after knocking her album Short and Sweet off the Irish number one spot this week.
The band released their eighth studio album Thoughts and Observations last week, which earned them their fourth Irish number one album in a row.
Speaking on Friday, the band said, “We’d like to send our condolences to Sabrina Carpenter. For the last 5 weeks her album has been number one in 250 countries but today Ms Carpenter is waking up to the news that this week it’s only 249. The people of Ireland have spoken Sabrina, and, for one week only, they’ve chosen 3 hairy, 30-something year-old indie-rockers from Terenure to take the mantle!”
Since the release, their album has garnered a great response from fans across the country, the band performing their new tracks on a mini-tour in association with Golden Discs.
Written in Dingle, County Kerry and recorded in Eastcote Studios in London, Thoughts & Observations is a melodic record which takes a look at life, relationships and art. The album has recieved rave reviews including an 8/10 from Hot Press.
The trio are headed to tour the US and Australia before coming home in December to play five sold-out shows in Dublin's 3Olympia.
