TG4 to broadcast four nights of live music from Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

TG4 will broadcast four nights of live music from August 6 to 9, as part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast.

The show will be presented by Irish fiddler and TV presenter Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, filmmaker and photographer Peadar Ó Goill and sports entertainment presenter Gráinne McElwain. It will be live each night at 9:30 pm.

Along with performances from the likes of Brian Kennedy, SexyTadhg, The Hothouse Flowers, Foy Vance, the Bow Brothers and more, a selection of competitions will also be streamed.

The Senior Céilí Band competition featuring groups of five to ten players competing with complex sets of reels, jigs and other traditional tunes will mark the finale of the event on Sunday.

This is the first time the Fleadh is in Belfast. Last year, it was held in Wexford and saw roughly 800,000 visitors.

“TG4 is delighted to be live broadcast partner of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 and work with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Belfast City Council, and the wider artistic community of Northern Ireland to bring the very best of the Fleadh across the globe,” reads a press release for the event.
