Super Extra Bonus Party scoop Choice Prize
Electro-rockers Super Extra Bonus Party have won the 2008 Choice Music Prize.
The band saw off strong competition from the highly-fancied Cathy Davey as well as Roisin Murphy, Dry County, Delorentos, Adrien Crowley, The Flaws, David Geraghty, Stanley Super 800 and Kila to take the prize.
Cormac Brady of the band praised his fellow nominees in his acceptance speech, saying: "Music isn't a competition. This is such an honour and there are nine other incredible bands. I've been glued to so many of their albums. It's them as much as us. This is Irish music..."
