The final of Spinoff 2011, the national student DJ competition will take place this Friday, March 4 at the Button Factory. The four finalists, coming from colleges all around the country will battle to become the crowning champion. The contest is being organised by the DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology) DJ Society who are celebrating their 10th anniversary. DJ Riva Starr, one of the most popular DJ's in the world will also play a headline set after the contest, with advanced tickets available from €10 at the college student union.

Earlier in the day, the colege will also host Ireland's first Electronic Music Conference on campus, featuring leading figures in the Irish Industry. Mr. Springs (2fm), John Gibbons (Spin 103.8), Trevor O’Shea and Eoin Cregan of Bodytonic Collective, along with other top industry figures. The panels will a veritable wet dream for any electronic-loving nerd with titles such as 'Analogue vs. Digital Production' as well as general industry discussions.
