The band was formed in 2018 as Soundstrand by bassist Shane Aherne, frontman Dara Clancy, guitarist David Solola and drummer Jude Finn, at first drawing influences from post-punk revival music before blending in garage-rock, indie-pop and new wave styles.
They first grew a following playing concerts at independent venues around Dublin - selling out headliners at The Workman's Club, The Grand Social, Fibber Magees and Whelan's.
The group changed their name to Strand and recruited guitarist JP Roche in late 2024, following their debut single, 'American Radio', in March that same year.
Strand's most recent release, 'Upside, Inside', launched in November 2024. It is the second track from their upcoming debut EP, An Ode To Doing Nothing At All.
Tickets go on sale Monday, March 31 at 10.00am; find more information here.
