Stars help raise €400,000 at the Cheerios Childline Concert
See acts such as Westlife, Alexandra Burke and JLS perform when the event airs this Saturday 21 November on TV3.
An impressive €400,000 was raised for the Irish Childline Charity on Wednesday night at the Cheerios Childline Concert in Dublin's O2. The concert, which is sponsored by Cheerios, was hosted by Liam McKenna and featured some of the biggest names in the music industry including Westlife, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Taoi Cruz, The Saturdays, Cascada and the Boulevard.
The event will be televised on TV3 at a primetime slot this Saturday 21 November at 6pm just before X Factor.
€3 million has been raised for Childline in the past from previous concerts, which have been held annually since 1997 and have featured such acts as Westlife, Boyzone, Robbie Williams, Girls Aloud, The Script, Shayne Ward, Stephen Gatley, Enrique Iglesias,, All Saints, Ronan Keating, Brian McFadden, Anastasia, Blue, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Five, Sugababes, Busted and many more.
All parties involved with the Cheerios Childline Concert provided their services free of charge on the night, including artists, organisers and The O2, Dublin.
