Modest Mouse release new album An Eraser and a Maze
It's the band sixth studio album and first in five years
Modest Mouse have released their new album, An Eraser and a Maze. It’s the band's sixth studio album, marking their first full-length release in five years.
The record features production from bandleader Isaac Brock, alongside Jacknife Lee (U2, The Killers), Suzy Shinn (Weezer), and Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Kim Gordon, Lil Yachty).
It is also the band's first album to feature new members Simon O’Connor, Damon Cox and Keith Karman.
Ahead of the album’s release, the band shared three singles: ‘Picking Dragons’ Pocket’, ‘Third Side of the Moon’ and ‘Look How Far…’.
Modest Mouse are currently on a select run of North American tour dates, which kicked off in Washington State on May 12 and will conclude in Tennessee June 14.
Hot Press reviewed the band’s last album, The Golden Casket, as: “While the LP loses its way near the end with needlessly cluttered arrangements, ‘Back To The Middle’ ends proceedings on a high note thanks to some soaring, post rock flavoured, distortion pedal bothering guitars.”
