Spit Records' first releases
The label are reviving classic Ulster punk.
Belfast’s very lovely Spit Records makes its bow with two albums, catalogue numbers Gob 1 and Gob 2.
The first is Vive Lyon! – a live set from legendarily rowdy Norn Iron punks The Outcasts who recently played The Button Factory. Originally signed to Good Vibrations, their ‘The Cops Are Coming’ single is an absolute pearler.
Second up is Shellshock Rockers, a 24-track compilation of previously unreleased 1978 – ’81 tracks by lesser-known NI spiky-hairs like The Androids, Ex-Producers, Shock Treatment, White Noise, The Co-Ordinates and Acme whose ranks included a youthful Stuart Bailie of Melody Maker, Vox, BBC Radio Ulster and Oh Yeah Music Centre fame.
