'Speech Project' album out next week

A new spoken word album entitled Speech Project will be released on February 3. Featuring new compositions by Irish musician and former Popes member Gerry Diver, the project has vocal contributions from Shane MacGowan, Damien Dempsey, Christy Moore, Martin Hayes and Danny Meehan.

Diver's music is derived from the melody and rhythm of the spoken word - and uses snippets of Irish traditional music too. Check out our review in the new issue of HP, out tomorrow (Thursday).
