Soulfly announce Whelan's date
It promises to be extremely hot and equally heavy on July 11 when Soulfly pay a visit to Whelan’s, Dubin. Tickets are €24.
The band, who are fronted by former Sepultura man Max Cavalera, will be plugging their current Savages album, which mixes in your face metal with tribal rhythms from his home country of Brazil.
“I really like the name ‘Savages’,” Cavalera explains. “I like single words that sound powerful, like ‘Primitive’, ‘Roots’, ‘Arise’. It’s about the human condition right now. We have the internet and we’re working on missions to Mars, but we are still decapitating each other and blowing up marathons. We’re still savages. Even with technology and how far we’ve come in the world, our spirit is still that of a savage.”
