Solange Sees Dramatic Rise In Record Sales After Elevator Incident
According to data from Nielsen SoundScan, an information and sales tracking system, Solange’s digital sales rose 233% in a week after the famous Knowles-Carter family scandal.
Solange's flying fist show is turning out to be quite the successful career move for her.
Solange’s digital sales went from 600 downloads to 2,000 downloads for the week ending in May 18, according to Nielsen SoundScan’s reports.
On May 12, TMZ released security video footage of Solange attacking Jay-Z after the Met Gala ball in a hotel elevator while Beyoncé looks impassively on. The trio released a statement on May 15 about the fight to the Associated Press, which said Jay Z and Solange assume their responsibility for the incident and have apologized.
“We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same,” the statement said.
Solange’s latest release was her EP, True. It was digitally released in November 2012 through Terrible Records and included the track, 'Losing you,' which reached No. 22 in the UK singles chart.
