Soda Blonde to host livestream event to celebrate album release
The group has delayed their release due to Covid but have plans to go ahead with a tour in September
To honour the release of their debut album, Dublin-based band Soda Blonde are hosting a live stream event on Friday evening on their YouTube channel. The group will play songs from their album Small Talk as well as provide an interactive experience for viewers via games and quizzes.
While Small Talk is the first album to be released under the name Soda Blonde, the group were all members of Little Green Cars when they were teenagers. Since then, frontwoman Faye O'Rourke has come into her own as a songwriter. The new album does not shy away from the awkwardness of early adulthood. "Every part of us is in here, both subliminally and literally. Lyrically, this record is like a collection of my flaws and insecurities. They’re lingering awkwardly by the bar at a crowded social gathering, waiting to integrate with the wider world,” O'Rourke says.
The album release has suffered from some delays due to Covid. However, Soda Blonde have plans for an Irish album tour in August and September with a later date in Leeds, UK.
Watch their live stream event at 8:30pm on Friday July 9, via the link below.
