SLAIN THE TRUTH (AT THE ROADHOUSE)
Boring, predictable and a bit of a rip off
Bob Dylan for the 21st century may have been the brief, but the end result winds up considerably closer to generic throwback: think husky vocals with lazy diction, a four-note bassline, wobbly organ vibratos and jangly guitar riffs. ‘Slain The Truth…’ is by no means a bad record – it’s just boring, predictable and a bit of a rip off (which, as we all know, is much much worse).
