Siobhan O'Brien makes debut release
Fresh from having ‘Pick of the Fortnight’ status bestowed on her by Jackie Hayden, Siobhan O’Brien gives a physical release on March 9 to her ‘Beautiful Bodies’ single.
Number one for the past 15 weeks on www.downloadmusic.ie, the song was penned by her fellow Shannonsider Eamonn Hehir who previously fronted Toucandance.
As Mr. Hayden correctly observed, it’s cracking stuff with O’Brien belting out such timely couplets as: “Bodies in bodybags, beautiful bodies/Don’t they look good, don’t they look nice/They’ll never get older, never get sad/Never get angry, never go mad/Never grow feeble, never go blind/Never get lonely with God on their side.”
You can catch her live at Costigan's, Cork (17 Jan), Cyprus Avenue, Cork (28 Jan), The Cobblestone, Dublin (1 Feb), Charly Martins, Kilrush, The Crane Bar, Galway (March 8) and Dolan’s, Limerick (March 9) with more dates to be announced soon.
