Seamus Heaney tribute night in Belfast
The Waterfront is the venue on November 17 as Belfast Music Week closes with a Seamus Heaney tribute night.
‘A Poet To Be Grateful For’ will feature a host of the Nobel Laureate’s actor friends and admirers reading his work over music supplied by the Ulster Orchestra.
Tickets for the gig, which is being broadcast live on BBC Radios Ulster and Foyle, are £16 and go on sale on Wednesday October 16.
Seamus spent the late ‘50s and pretty much the whole of the ‘60s in Belfast where he assembled such notable collections of Death Of A Naturalist and hung out at Queens.
As reported last week on hotpress.com, several tribute nights are also taking place in New York with Gabriel Byrne among the star turns.
