Run the Jewels Make Thunder in the Rain on the Main Stage
It is hard to be impartial when it comes to a Run the Jewels set. Even the security and camera crew were singing along.
As the rain came down, the thunderous bass of Run the Jewels engulfed the entire of the Main Arena, and the sky was filled with strobe lights, middle fingers, inflatable hands and frantic head banging.
"You haven't seen a black and white dude this happy since McGregor and Mayweather were counting all that money" quipped Killer Mike to the rabid crowd.
Pummelling the sound system with raging renditions of 'Stay Gold' and 'Nobody Speak', the pair of MC's still managed to keep energy high between sets as they entertained the crowd with an array of rules and requests. From advice on preventing sexual harassment to a call for finger snaps as El-P charmed the audience with his expletive laden "sensitive" poetry, the duo were exhilarated not merely by the crowd's energy, but their talent at "following instructions."
Also offering up a new song entitled 'Lie, Cheat, Steal, Kill, Win', which proved to be a bombastic, but creepy hit that called upon Donald Trump to go perform fellatio, their passionate rage made for a performance irresistible to sing along to even when that was an impossibility.
