Roddy Woomble - first solo visit to Ireland
The Idlewild frontman has announced plans to play his first ever Irish solo shows, in support of his second solo album
The tour is confirmed for late May and will take in shows in Dublin, Belfast, Killarney and Galway.
With Idlewild currently “resting”, the talented Scot will release The Impossible Song & Other Songs through his own Greenvoe label in partnership with EMI Label Services.
The Irish tour will see Roddy play material from his new record, as well as excerpts from his critically acclaimed solo debut album My Secret is My Silence, with a couple of Idlewild classics thrown in for good measure.
Woomble will be backed by a small, acoustic band - Sorren MacLean on guitar and vocals, Seonaid Aitken on fiddle, piano and vocals and Duncan Lyall on double bass.
Tour Details:
Thursday May 26 – The Workman’s Club, Dublin
Friday May 27 – Black Box, Belfast
Saturday May 28 – INEC Acoustic Club, Killarney
Sunday May 29 – Roisin Dubh, Galway
