Robert Palmer dies, aged 54
The man who brought the world 'Addicted to Love' has died in Paris today
The rock 'n' roll world is mourning another of its own today following Robert Palmer's death in Paris. According to initial reports, the 54-year-old suffered a massive heart attack.
One of the first people to react to the news was Blondie's Debbie Harry.
"Oh my God, I'm shocked," she told hotpress.com. "I didn't know him personally, but he was incredibly stylish and in terms of his videos, especially, groundbreaking. The one he did with the models for 'Addicted To Love' – that was amazing. He was a character and, at 54, far too young to die."
Originally a member of Vinegar Joe alongside Elkie Brooks, Palmer went solo in the mid '70s and, in addition to the aforementioned 'Addicted To Love', scored major hits with the likes of 'Johnny & Mary', 'I Didn't Mean To Turn You On' and 'Some Guys Have All The Luck'.
