Inter Milan reveal Pink Floyd merch
The project features a range of products, including an anthem jacket to be worn by players during the pre-match of Inter vs. Cagliari this Friday, April 17.
Inter Milan have revealed Pink Floyd merch alongside Sony Music Italy. Combining music and football, the project celebrates the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here.
The collection includes an anthem jacket to be worn by players during the pre-match of Inter vs. Cagliari this Friday, April 17, as well as a bundle with a t-shirt and vinyl.
Reimagined retro jerseys display the 50th anniversary logo of Wish You Were Here, the iconic handshake symbol featured on the album's cover, and the Inter Milan logo.
The merch also includes scarves, tote bags, guitar picks, drumsticks, and the PFFC Collection - a capsule inspired by the football team founded by the band.
At the start of the '70s the band would arrange football matches during breaks in their touring schedule. That's how the The Pink Floyd Football Club (PFFC) was born; made up of band members David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright, alongside various friends.
"Music and football often come together in unexpected ways, and this collaboration between Pink Floyd, Inter Milan, and Sony is a clear example of this," said Catalogue Director of Sony Music Italy Luca Fantacone.
Last December, the 50th anniversary release of Wish You Were Here became a Top 10 charting album across the world. In May, the film Pink Floyd at Pompeii - MCMLXXII became a Top 10 Box Office hit, and the accompanying soundtrack album earned the band's first UK #1 album since 2014's The Endless River.
Earlier this month, they announced the release of a new official compilation project titled 8-Tracks. Out June 5, the record features eight songs selected from the band's 1971 - 1979 era. Read more here.
The merch is available on the Inter Milan online shop here.
