Check out the video below
Offica has dropped the music video for his new track 'Life I Chose'.
The opening of the clip depicts the Irish-Nigerian rapper in a room alongside a therapist, who encourages him to "go outside, somewhere, anywhere. Connect with nature, think, reflect, and do something that you haven't done before."
The single, which was released last week, opens up with a few emotional piano notes and ethereal, breathy backing vocals, before an introspective Offica muses on growing up Black in Ireland, and the struggles in confidence that come with ambition and success.
'Life I Chose' marks his first release this year, after he shared a a slew of tracks last summer following a special guest slot for West Coast hip-hop legend the Game at the 3Olympia in March.
Nigerian-born and raised in Drogheda, Offica has been one of Irish rap's biggest success stories since his appearance in the A92 Plugged In Freestyle, which sits on 130 million streams on Spotify and almost 65 million views on YouTube. He released his debut mixtape Hokage: Pt.1 in October 2023, which was swiftly followed by Hokage Pt2: Hokage in Lagos, a four-track project which saw the rapper lean into his Nigerian roots on songs like 'Yoruba Flow'.
