Radio Nova surge ahead in JNLR ratings
Dublin's classic rock station has its best showing yet.
The latest JNLR radio ratings show massive audience growth for Radio Nova, as the station passes out some of its major competitors in key demographics for the first time.
According to figures just released for Jan-Dec 2011, the station has consolidated an 11% weekly and 6% daily reach in the Greater Dublin area after only 16 months on air.
“This is our fifth JNLR survey since we launched and it is by far our best yet; we’ve shown strong continued growth in our 25-54 demographic”, said Nova CEO, Kevin Branigan. “It's a terrific result for a radio station that has been on air less than 18 months.”
The figures highlight the upward curve Nova is now on, having launched in the midst of recession in September 2010. The station has also beaten its own listenership projections by a significant detail.
“Nova offers a unique mix of some of the best guitar songs every made and well-known on-air personalities - and, judging from these figures, we are clearly striking a chord with listeners in Dublin and the commuter belt,” says Branigan.
