Hot Press writer Jackie Hayden was among the judges
Local four-piece Pulse scooped the Battle of the Bands competition run last Friday in the Talbot Hotel in Wexford, coming in ahead of A Bunch of Wallys, The Emergency, Stone Silence and Cian Gaffney.
Pulse impressed a panel of judges, (including Jackie Hayden of Hot Press, internationally-renowned percussionist Nick Bailey, and Alan Byrne from the Red Chair song club) with their punky mix of indie rap and minimalist rock, and walked away with the top prize of studio time.
The event attracted a sizeable crowd, and was organised by Lisa Somers and her Apollo Productions team drawn from transition year at the local Loreto school.
