Protobaby Fight the System
New single ‘Traditions’ initially banned on YouTube…
The latest release from Limerick band Protobaby has been met with controversy after the contents of its video was deemed unfit for YouTube.
“[It’s] interesting since Rihanna’s S&M video has 33 million views,” said Tony, guitarist with Protobaby, “with most of those views probably being under 15 years of age! Our video was an homage to Bettie Page, and was a tongue-in-cheek twist on the song’s fighting theme. I guess a little band from Ireland is an easy target for a moral stance!”
The video in question – which involves girls in 50s style lingerie engaging in some fairly light S&M – has, we’re glad to say, mysteriously resurfaced on YouTube. Naturally, we wouldn’t want to scupper the chances of free speech, so we’ve reposted 'Traditions' below for your viewing pleasure, with the vimeo link added just in case.
