Plan A

I’ve no doubt that Courtney Taylor-Taylor put on a pair of fertility-restricting trousers to give his falsetto a boost on ‘Plan A’. More ‘Walking On The Moon’ than ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’, this record sees the Dandies in touch with their mellower, stonier side – it’s all husky choruses, gentle acoustic hooks, cutesy melodic quirks and those vaporous vocals. Not the band at their most catchy, but entirely lovely nonetheless.
